wilbur

listening: the reason, hoobastank

i`m working lights for three wilbur sargunaraj concerts in one weekend.
two are done.
the first one was a roaring success, fantastic really.
the second one, last night, was hilarious.
1. no one showed up
2. dad was interviewed by wilbur
3. we lost control of the moving lights...twice
4. we set off the fire alarm with the smoke machines
5. the fire department actually came
6. dad`s dancing stole the show
the last show is tonight, and i`ll be working it alone, tyler won`t be there. i`m nervous but it should be fun.
also, i passed the written portion of my driver`s test with 92%. time to do the in-car training.

coke zero stains this place

listening: issues, escape the fate

coke zero also stains my nice new white h&m shirt. thanks to a particularly oblivious grade 12 girl in the hallway, it is now in the washing machine with about a gallon of detergent.
am i overreacting? yes. so lets knock it off.
i think the pressure of this semester is finally starting to sink in, being that it is barely mid-october and i`m already running on fumes. and now it`s starting to pick up a bit. good thing i won`t be doing drivers ed anymore during the second term, because i have an inkling it`s going to get bat-sh*t crazy running up to final exams.
anyway, i had an awesome chem class today, involving freezing a tomato with liquid nitrogen and smashing it, freezing a marshmallow and smashing it, freezing an eraser and watching it repel a hammer, and putting various items in a vacuum chamber and watching them expand or shoot into flasks (hard boiled egg). also, i was one of the people who got to climb into a garbage bag and have the air sucked out with a shop-vac. all in all, pretty sick.
mme. dunn was absent for the past week in montréal, being that her dad was dying. she came back today, and her dad died, so she`s flying back out tomorrow.
that`s all i got.

oh, the humanity

watching: back to the future

ooh, change in the listening: line.
anyway, being that i haven`t posted in 10 days it was time for an update.
i got my progress reports and preliminary standings are looking good. a little more effort in chem is necessary.
drivers ed has been started, my last classroom session is this saturday, in car lessons start after halloween, which is later than i wanted.
the hot tub is beckoning. so i promise i`ll post tomorrow.

i thought that i heard you laughing

listening: r.e.m., losing my religion

oh boy. what has american apparel done now?
i followed a link to their site to see a slideshow of a woman wearing a see-thru mesh...can i call it a shirt? and sure enough, hello chest! and then hello xxxchurch.
honestly, this is just enough to make me want to fire off a few angry emails. when i want to see a wonderful collection of overpriced hoodies and t-shirts, i don`t want it laced with a dose of methamphetaporn.
and this is exactly what`s wrong with society. are we so accustomed to seeing nudity on tv and in popup windows on the internet that mainstream media and clothes stores are promoting pornographic images and downright sexual clothing?
i`m disgusted and a little put out.
and that`s my rant for the day.

by the way, the song choice of `losing my religion` was a coincidence with the subject of this post.
