so this will be a short post.
i'm all packed up, except for my laptop.
i'm gonna get dad to stop at mac's so i can pick up a dew.
mountain dew, that is.
anyway, away from the trivialities, i am looking forward to seeing everyone from uncle tom and aunt lois to rae and craig to the devon lemke's.
this calls for a resounding aces.
aces!
-brett

RAE! I NEED TO BORROW...

...your copy of jpod, if you even have one.

listening: california gurls- tyler ward

do you understand how hard it is to find this book? no chapters, coles, or indigo has this book! and i want it!
time for a hold at the library, i suppose. shoot.
hopefully, hopefully, i can pick it up tomorrow before i leave. hopefully.
i believe 'girlfriend in a coma' is the strangest book i have ever read. how many times can the plot twist? and how does it do it so gracefully? and what is the underlying message? i need to read it again, it was amazing.
anyway, edmonton tomorrow, my schedule looks a little like this:
10:00 am: leave calgary
1:30 pm: get picked up at dycor by opa
2:00 pm: arrive at oma and opa's
2-11: bond and whatnot
thursday
7:30 am: wake up
11:00 am: get picked up by rae and craig for a quick jaunt off to west ed
3:00 pm: return to the aforementioned oma and opa's
probably around 6:00 pm: venture off into the bushes for a quick jaunt with the neighboring pack of werewolves
6:30 pm: go to uncle bernie's workplace, as he will take me out to devon
7:30 pm: arrive at devon
then there will be hanging out with cousins, until saturday morning when opa will come pick me up.
aces!
school: t-minus 37 days

50 POSTS FTW!

listening: the distant throb of the washing machine. ugh.

i hate laundry. i'm considering adapting a jack reacher-esque lifestyle, in that instead of washing clothes, i just throw em out and buy new ones. unfortunately i don't have the type of income to support it being that the price of clothes these days is astronomical. was that sentence gramatically correct? i don't really care!
anyway, i've decided that haikus are more fun than regular poems.
mountain dew is good
but it can make rachel die
because it's not nice
see? haikus are fun!
anyway, faced with the sudden realization that all my music sucks, i need new tunes for the upcoming edmonton extravaganza. rae! help me!
-brett

HAIKU TIME!

rachel shea lemke
must learn to appreciate
the finer haikus

and now she must go
and make me a ham sandwich
and one for craig too

you see now women
especially rae lemke
make good sandwiches

RAE- A TRIBUTE IN HAIKU

crazy, chipmunk girl
should not be allowed cameras
else she will go nuts

listening: the middle- jimmy eat world

so i'm going to edmonton, it seems.
wednesday through saturday i'll be up laying about with my grandparents. sounds fun. at least i'll be out of calgary.
i'm looking forward to seeing sarah.
even if it's not guaranteed yet, i'm planning on seeing her the friday there, if she's available. i know for a fact she doesn't work fridays, so here's hoping.
-brett

YOU'VE GOTTEN ME RIGHT WHERE YOU WANT ME

listening: hold that sound- moneen

hey all of you.
yesterday i cleaned my room for the satisfaction of knowing that there is in fact not a nest of spiders under my bed. phew. but now under my bed is clean, my drawers are cleaned out, and there is practically nothing in my room anymore. and i know that when i move out, i can just tape my drawers shut, pack up my closet and books and leave. but that won't be for another couple of years.
i already knew that i was going to university, but yesterday while cleaning it sunk in. maybe it's because i got rid of the junk that would make it hard to pack. maybe not. but it's sinking in slowly that i need to work extremely hard these next few years. and i'm ready for it. it's scary, it's not what i'm used to, but i'll do it, man.

VHS FTW!

listening: you stupid girl- framing hanley

hello everyone!
i apparently like getting up at 7:30.
who would've guessed I was a morning person?
anyway, two nights ago i watched a vhs movie for the first time in...years.
it was weird. ly nostalgic.
being that it was both a cassette and star trek: tng.
i feel like such a 90's kid again!
anyway, i'll blog again after work today, being that this post doesn't really have substance. it's a filler blog.
-brett

FRUSTRATED

listening: stupid girl- framing hanley

so here's the story. last night i was laying on my bed reading, and i heard a knock at my window. i open the blinds to see a terrified baby rabbit that had fallen into my basement windowsill and couldn't get out. naturally, i open my window and take out the screen with the intention of lifting it up to put it back outside. the problem was that as soon as i had the screen out it tried to attack me, shot past me, and ended up on my bedroom floor. so i cornered it and built it a little pen there out of the screen and books, and i called danny to help me out. he brought a box over, we caught it and took it back outside, and released it far away from my window.
nice story, right?
not according to everyone in my family.
since danny stayed over after that, they assume it was a ploy to get danny to stay over.
they don't believe a word of it.
aaah. so i'm a little frustrated at the moment.

BROKEN GUITAR- OSCAR THE GRETSCH IN A GARBAGE CAN

you may notice the lack of a listening line in this entry. that's because i'm not listening to anything, i'm enjoying the silence. it helps me think.
a while ago i found a bible app free on the itunes store, so i downloaded it. today on that app i found a 1 year reading plan. so i'll do it. whole bible, new testament twice, one year. can i do it? i sure hope so.
a friend of mine also raised some intriguing questions that i don't know the answer to. why is there life on earth to gain our way into heaven? why couldn't we go there right off the bat? why is there even a chance we could go to hell?
thinking about this gets me panicky.
know what else is making me panicky? the thought of school.
i've mentioned this already several times but i'm terrified of losing focus halfway through the first term...again.
argh. message me, skype me, facebook me, text me.
i need some questions answered and some stress out of my life.
-brett

PERNICIOUS

hello everyone! yes, it has been a semi-sort of-busy day. busier than any day this summer at least. i woke up at 11:30, had a shower, ate, took the dawg for a wawk, went to walmart and safeway with family, bought mozart a new collar (it's red) and then changed 2 shower curtain liners. top that! now it's time for some modern warfare 2 after it finishes installing to my hard drive. i love having a 250gb xbox 360. anyway, after dins i'm considering challenging dad and alanna to a game of mono-pole, and see if i fare any better this time around.
this will be a good year.

listening: scrubs- my cookie pants

i love winning. last night i had a huge argument with natalie about whether or not i should grow a beard. my vote yes, her vote no. she said they were gross on everyone except justin timberlake. however, today i tricked her into saying that they weren't gross. i won! i won i won i finally won!
on a side note, i hate religious debates.
there was a large one with jenn that i could not get out of.
the thing is, as with any debates, there's always a loser.
but the loser's basis for living has been shaken to the core, and even the winner is left with questions.
luckily there were no victors last night.
or maybe that's a bad thing.
i don't know.
school starts in 46 days
i'm stoked, believe it or not.

INDEED, I BLOG TOO MUCH.

listening: hedley- cha-ching (oh, the shame)

blog blog blog. that's all i do with my time!
anyway, i just got off work.
and i realized that girls (at least some) do gossip a lot. i was shelf reading a section right by three girls talking about their tutor's attractiveness, and soon they moved on to another girls breast size. i left soon after that. what pigs.
anyway, i'm trying to find out what classes people are taking next year. i for one, am taking all 3 sciences and sports med 15. aces, toots.
anyway, people should let me know.

YOU DON'T FEEL ME

listening: broken- seether ft. amy lee

rain rain gtfo!
where the 'f' stands for fun
and definitely not that other word.
anyway, it's raining, i'm in the basement facebooking and drinking root beer.
i work at six.
and i can't 'fun'ing wait for school to start.
momentary panic forgotten, i'm looking forward to all my classes.
i'm looking forward to seeing my friends
and i want to get back into the groove i dug last year.
grade eleven, i'm coming for you.
-brett

MLAAARGH!

listening: perfect- hedley (don't judge me rae!)

hello again blog. i believe we should talk more.
anyway, please to not take this post as angsty.
i am starting to have some legit fears about this coming year. self doubt is running rampant through the deserted corridors of my mind. i've felt excited and pumped going into school years before, but when they start i go back to the laziness factor.
so will it be different this year being that i'm working towards something that i really wanna do?
this is going to be a good year, hopefully.
-brett
(sorry about the short post, i'll try and post again later)

I WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE NOW!

listening: criminal minds

hey, it's toots. (rae, aces.)
apparently rae is going to exclusively call me toots from now on due to my resurrection of the term aces.
i'm ok with it.
i threw danny a birthday party last night consisting of dr. pepper, pizza, xbox and wii. it was awesome. alanna joined in for some rock band at one point.
now we're ordering more pizza for lunch. danny has gone home though.
i am wearing a pair of shorts and nothing else because of the laundry that isn't done. it smells, as my sister would say, skunky. aces, my dear watson.
-brett

I JUST LOST HEARING IN MY EAR!

listening: my ear whistle, apologise- silverstein (i love this cover)

hello, i had a sudden realization fueled by rae that i had not blogged in 3 days. this is unacceptable. so i lost the hearing suddenly in my left ear, it whistled for a bit and now it's back to normal. weird. anyway, both danny and jenn got back in to calgary last night so my summer won't be lonely anymore! hooray! i have to call the hospital being that the screws in my ankle are beginning to irritate me a bit. not too much, but it's noticeable now that they're there, and i for one do not like it much.
anyway, me and danny are hanging out in around an hour and a half, so i guess i'll fart around for a bit until then.
xbox time!
-brett

DEAR RAIN. EFF OFF!

listening: paramore- brick by boring brick

dear rain.
i believe we need some time apart.
i know this might come as a shock to you, as we've been so close over the years.
unfortunately, things aren't working anymore.
i'm happy, and you're so...wet.
you're drippy and have no personality.
and i deserve someone better.
you'll always be in my heart.

♥ brett.

listening: savior- rise against

xbox! that is what, apart from family, these last two days have consisted of. my dad, oh my dad, shelled out the other 200 bucks for the new 360.
bless his bald head and large heart.
speaking of family, i received some negative feelings about one of my previous posts, entitled AAAH!
it was fueled by insomnia, and i really don't actually feel that way about my extended family. so sorry, i was too harsh, but i will leave the post up.
there's not much else to say, other than dad also ordered a hard drive transfer kit from microsoft today, so i can recover my save data from my old xbox.
yes!
-brett

JUILLET!

listening: imagine- john lennon

hello again. i have begun to have some serious insomnia. seriously, it's getting annoying.

i have to work tonight at staples.
anyway, i need to go eat something to ease my headache.
-brett

AAAH!

listening: children screaming

i hate family visits. they consist of my having to donate my bed, screaming children, scraped knees, hurt feelings, and eventual groundings. it doesn't help that i'm running on a nap and a red bull. i have been up, without the nap, for thirty two hours. with nap, thirty. shoot me please! i also jammed my finger. bad day.
-brett

OSAMA BIN IRONY

i was just reading my sister's blog (incandescentlyridiculous.blogspot.com) and she was doing a survey. i saw this question, but didn't want to do the whole survey to get to it: 112. What is the punishment you would come up with for Osama Bin Laden if you caught him alive? And I wanted to answer. So here goes.
112. What is the punishment you would come up with for Osama Bin Laden if you caught him alive? I would build a skyscraper and put him and the rest of Al-Qaeda in it, then remote pilot a plane into it. See how he likes it.
Wouldn't that be sweet.
I'll blog again today, so don't freak out about the short pointless entry.

FOOD POISONING!

listening: savior- rise against

i have food poisoning! blech. needless to say, there was a technicolor yawn as well as other bodily fluids rushing out of my body every way they could. tmi? i think so. anyway, my body is completely devoid of any food now but i still feel awful. i've taken drugs and they should be kickin' in soon...hopefully. anyway, rrod day 3. i've taken to grabbing a game off of the shelf and trying to put it in the xbox, only it isn't there anymore. its annoying.
ok, i should really go to bed.
*barf*

INCOHERENT RAMBLINGS!

listening: crap, i have to find my ipod. 1 sec...ok. listening: beautiful- eminem

lol. i love blogging when i just wake up. well not just, i've been awake for around twenty minutes, and i've showered and had a nos energy shot. i don't even know why i'm so tired right now, i got almost eight hours last night. granted, it is time i should go to bed at a decent hour instead of 3:30, but who really cares? anyway, scott, kara, jack, emma, kate, and jane are coming on thursday and i have to give up my bed for jack and kate. awesome. this means i had to hide my airsofts, bb gun, knives etc. from the six year old and three year old who will be in my room like, 50% of the time. i am not exactly pleased, but what are you gonna do? anyway, it's day 3 of the rrod saga, and my broken xbox currently adorns my desk looking forlorn. three weeks and i'll have my new one. sorry for the jumbled thoughts here. it's due to twenty-five minutes being awake and 125 mg of caffeine in my system already. so maybe i should blog later today too.

NOOOOO!!!!!

listening: you will lose it all- pillar
noooo! my faithful 360 has perished in the one way i hoped would never happen: red ring of death.
it happened yesterday as my dad was attempting to destroy a russian btr in modern warfare. the screen froze, so i restarted and it froze again jus as the logo appeared, then blackness, and...the three blinking quadrants. >.<
anyway, believe it or not this triggered some profound thinking. i know, profound thinking from my head. it got me thinking about death. and to tell you the truth, it's kind of overwhelming. not death, but the afterlife. spending eternity alive. being alive forever freaks me out. i start thinking about the possibility that i'll go to hell instead of heaven. and then i get really freaked and think about video games. but being that my xbox is broken, i can't really do that anymore either. if anyone wants to talk about this stuff with me, shoot me a message on facebook or twitter, or if you have my number text me.

CAN NO LONGER THINK STRAIGHT

sick of people mocking me.
sick and tired of being that kid who got pushed off the monkey bars (figuratively)
i`m tired of all the people walking over me.
right now it feels like there are only a few people who i can trust. i just took two off my list today.
m.s. j.s. r.l. a.l. m.l. s.l.
i took these off after the events of today.
j.m. n.c.
these were friends. and now...i don`t think i even know who they are.
this has been a rough evening.
